Alpha 3 Loaded 7 Released

Alpha 3 Loaded 7 Released

We are please to announce yet another milestone in Loaded 7 history. The release of Alpha 3.

With this release we move one step closer to our goals for our addon store framework. This release includes the first look at our new UI code hook system based on the popular VQmod framework.

Highlights of Alpha 3:

  • Addons Hook System
  • Certified PayPal Advanced Payment module
  • CRE Secure Universal Hosted Payment Page Module
  • Open Graph Support
  • QR Code Display

The Addon Hooks System fills the role of 6.5’s RCI framework for Loaded 7. It is akin to the RCI system but on steroids, given a heart, rebuilt with 6 million dollars of 1970’s TV technology and almost has the self awareness of SkyNet. It allows developers to place their Add-ons UI elements anywhere on any page, and replace our default UI elements. It also allows them to hook into any core logic at run time without overwriting the physical files where the core code lives.

This lays the ground work for the new Add-on Store framework that will be central to customizing Loaded 7 for merchants. Documenation for the addon hooks system is found here:

The Certified PayPal Advanced Payment module is a 2 in one module for PayPal. It currently handles the new payment options for PayPal, PayPal Payments Advanced and Payflow Link, PayPal’s Gateway offering.

  paypal payment options

Just enter your PayPal credentials and go.  Which now support a secure payment iframe page. Allowing the seamless acceptance of Credit Card data for PayPal Payments Advanced and Pro merchant without any redirection.

We will be releasing a PayPal Payments standard module in the beta releases.

The CRE Secure Universal Hosted Payment page module is now included in Loaded 7. You can use it to accept credit cards for over 10 gateways.  It also uses the secure payment iframe page, along with it’s Patent Pending HTML Clone the payment form is seamless and mobile ready.

The world needs more sharing, so we have committed to supporting the Open Graph Protocol that Facebook and other social networks support for posting URLs and sharing web pages. This means that the title, image and description of your home page, categories, and product details will come across clean and correctly when ever someone shares your pages with their friends. This is extremely important and we are one of the few open source applications to support it out of the box.

Since mobile is important to Loaded 7 we have added a QR Code generator to each page of the default template and admin. This icon will display a larger QR Code on your display that you can scan with your mobile phone (or tablet) and essentially transfer the current page url to that device. It is great for testing and some merchants will find it useful to help their customers take their site on road with their mobile device. Here is a primer on QR Codes.

Loaded 7 will be in it’s Beta release in May. Adding the embedded add-on store right in your admin. You can save on Loaded7 Pro and B2B by pre-ordering now. You get extended renewal period on updates, and $100 coupon for Google Adwords. Click here to Pre-Order Loaded 7 now and Save.

Will the the QR Code functionality be on every page, and is it going to part of the template system, even if its a third party template?

    • Sal - April 12, 2013, 2:32 pm

It is available for template makers to put in their template, and it will produce a QR code for whatever page is it called on.
